I have owned this exceptional and much sought after Heritage from new (October 2001) and it has covered a little over 21,000 miles. This is my second Heritage and it has been a joy to own. I will be sad to see it go but the imminent birth of twins means my garage will be empty for a while!
I wish I could tell you quite simply that this Heritage has been cherished, and you would know me well enough to know what that meant; that the bike always looks 'just polished' using the best products available; that the bike before you is the result of thousands invested over the years to make it quite simply one of the best Softail Classics out there. And that if I owned it for another 10 years, it would look just as good as it does today; immaculate.
And this is no ordinary Heritage; I have receipts for parts totaling over £8,000, and an agreed insurance valuation through Harley-Davidson for £22,220. It's no secret that once you've forked out your hard-earned cash on the bike of your dreams, you can then spend the price of the bike over on parts, accessories and tuning. This bike is evidence of this trend!
This wonderful bike was purchased new from the now defunct Harley dealer Dockgate 20 in Southampton, and is a 2002 model year bike although it looks new from its condition (passers-by are often surprised when they learn it's a little under 10 years old!) Instantly recognisable, the Heritage Softail has its roots in the 1940's, and is without doubt one of the best touring motorcycles on the road.
Complete with removable windshield, removable leather saddlebags, sissy bar rack and pillion setup, this bike strips down to a boulevard cruiser in a matter of minutes and really looks the part - especially when the discreet LEDs under the tank highlight that chromed-out detailed motor.
Uprated suspension, brakes, lighting, tuned engine, bespoke bars, all stainless, the list goes on.
And this bike is clean. Very clean. In fact it has only seen rain when caught out on trips, and has always been cleaned with the best products on the market, kept on a trickle charger when garaged, covered with a soft Harley bike cover and stored off ground on a hydraulic lift during winter months.
